Ossa [2025]

Meditating on the notion of ‘glass as skin’, Ossa draws on ideas of space and bodily memory, particularly how the body can be a mold for space. A single sheet of black glass is slumped over casts of bone-like forms to materialise this dialogue between form and skin.

The surface is worked by hand to achieve a satin, tactile quality that is reminiscent of skin. Ossa plays with sensory as well as material tensions in glass, balancing delicately between shadow and light, lightness and weight, moment and memory, movement and stillness, the familiar and the alien.

Available in Small (pictured) and Large.

Each work Madeline produces is by hand, therefore inevitably there may be some differentiations to the piece picture.
